19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
His retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
